The Candidate:

No previous experience is required, but the demonstrated ability to learn and integrate quickly is an advantage. The ideal candidate must fit the following profile:

Bachelors of Science with a minimum of second class upper in Geoscience (Geology or Geophysics) in addition
Master of Science degree in Geoscience (Geology or Geophysics).
Candidates expecting to obtain a Masters Degree by October 2009 may also apply
Possess NYSC discharge or exemption certificate

The Role:

The successful candidates will undergo a 2-3 year training program in various geoscience skill areas. The training will be on-the-job and will prepare the individuals for assignments in any designated aspect of petroleum exploration and production in Nigeria.

JOBS AT AGIP PETROEUM


Nigerian Agip Oil Company is a Joint Venture between Agip and The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and involves in oil and gas exploration and production activities in Nigeria. NAOC is currently recruiting for Senior Drilling and Reservoir Engineers. Candidates are expected to follow the instructions below before applying for the jobs:

SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER (SDE 09)
Provide well engineering support to the NAOC drilling and well testing operations
Ensure that planning of the well activities is consistent with the applicable rules
Ensure that operations ore performed in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner
Prepare Drilling/Abandonment well programmes in a timely and technically sound manner, complying -with company policies—and procedures
Liaise with Well operations Superintendent on all aspects of the well construction activities, in particular for those aspects related to information/data acquisition and validation
Study the overall course of operations and propose/recommend measures aimed at improving the drilling performance
Prepare the budget for the activities in accordance with company procedures
Mentoring & improving skills of junior Engineer
Requisite Qualification and person specification

Bachelors Degree in Technical/Engineering disciplines
M. Sc degree in the relevant disciplines is an advantage
About 10 years work experience in drilling/well- testing/completion/work over operations Knowledge of advanced drilling operational techniques
Ability to work with minimum or no supervision
Good team player
Possess presentation and good interpersonal skills


RESERVOIR ENGINEER (RE 09)
Reservoir Monitoring
Preparation of Well Test Programmes
Well Test Follow-up/ Analyses
Participation in Reservoir Studies
Preparation of Annual, Monthly and Weekly Reports
Requisite Qualification and person specification

Bachelors degree in Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

Due to continued growth in the West Africa region our client is looking for an experienced Projects Director to work in their Nigeria offices.

The Subsea Project Director will provide direction to a Project Team for a major Subsea EPC Project having responsibility for the contractual and financial delivery of the project. You will be the key interface across the business, the client and the management team on all project matters.

Requirements:

- Demonstrable experience in the project management of subsea EPC projects.
- Solid track record of successful delivery of EPC projects against contract.
- Proven interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Excellent leadership skills - Build the Project Team into a dedicated and enthusiastic unit.

Key Responsibilities:

- Organize and control the total Project Scope of Work, both within the clients organisation and by engagement with the external Client.
- Report Project's performance to the Project Steering Committee.
- You shall be the clients representative interacting with the client's management team to ensure that project objectives, project schedules and budgets are established and met.
- Establish lines of communication within the Project Organization, towards Partners, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers and towards the Client.
- Implement EHS, QA, QS and Risk Management, in accordance with the clients and the Contractual requirements. Ensure quality, safety, progress and cost control and initiate necessary corrective actions as and when required.
- Use your solid people management and network abilities to establish a positive team spirit by inspiring project team members as well as that part in the matrix organization supporting the project.

Desired Characteristics:

- Solid knowledge of the Oil & Gas sector, in particular subsea solutions.
- Key understanding of project management principles - to establish project goals and ensure that these are communicated to, and understood by, all participants in the Project Organization as well as in all supporting units.

SWIFT OIL NEEDS A PIPLINE ENGINEER


Our client, a major oil and gas operator, currently require a Pipeline Engineer to work in Lagos, Nigeria on a 28x28 rotation, 2 day shift, 2 night shift.
Main responsibilties include:


•Contributes efficiently to pipeline engineering and design activities related to oil and gas activities for projects, studies, proposals, estimates and / or work improvement programs.
•Estimates the project cost and prepares project master schedule, selects and determines the applicable engineering/construction standards, and material and equipment specifications
•Prepares pipe and coating material selection recommendations
•Reviews scopes of work, budgets, commitments, schedules and progress. Makes use of progress reporting system. The degree of assistance and supervision depends on scope , phase and progress of project
Prepares and maintains alignment diagrams
•Develops and maintains pipeline network models.
•Prepares basic piping and instrument diagrams
•Prepares hydrostatic test programs

Candidates wishing to apply must have:
•Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
•15 years working experiences in pipeline engineering of which a minimum of 5 years should be working experiences on oil field, petrochemical, or oil and gas handling projects
•Thorough knowledge of oil field engineering and construction methods including its practice and procedures
•Demonstrated experience in working on engineering teams on at least 3 projects of at least total value US$10MM each
