Shell companies have been exploring for and producing hydrocarbons for over a century. Today, Exploration & Production (EP) employs some 17,500 people and a further 10,000 contractors worldwide and has interests in ventures in around 40 countries. This is a technically challenging work environment characterised by a continuing need for research, the pursuit of new technology, and the adoption of new ways of working. It demands people who will thrive in a culture that encourages and rewards innovation, collaboration and the ability to learn from success as well as failure. Shell

Nigeria Exploration & Production Company (SNEPCO) is a rapidly growing company made up of a range of large operated and non-operated deep and shallow water assets at various stages in the maturation funnel. Our production operations support, well and reservoir surveillance work, subsurface and well delivery work is being rapidly migrated from the global technical partners to Lagos-based staff. As a result the Reservoir Engineering (RE) function in Lagos has an opening for a Senior Reservoir Gas Engineer to provide support and input across the full range of EP activities, with a focus on maturation of the offshore gas resources.Responsibilities :As a Senior Reservoir Gas Engineer, you'll work on a wide range of tasks and projects in an organisation that is lean in terms of Lagos-based RE staff. You'll be expected to provide expert RE input in a wide range of decisions relating to AG (Associated Gas) and NAG (Non-associated Gas) fields. Very good relationships will be needed to be established across the various functions with the operating partners, SNEPCO/Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCiN) management and our global technical partners. You'll also participate in converting SNEPCO from a company which until recently was largely focused on exploration and major project delivery to a fully fledged integrated operating unit. You'll influence budgets varying from several $100k up to several $100 million, a responsibility that directly contributes to reserve replacement for the group.

We'll expect you to play a role in stakeholder relations by participating in partner meetings. Assessments conducted can also impact on critical decisions including hold or drop blocks, or final investment decisions on major offshore projects. You'll take a pro-active role in health, safety and environmental matters for offshore, data-acquisition operations, and contribute to proper pressure evaluations and monitoring prior to and during drilling. As a large part of SNEPCO's exploration and subsurface studies are carried out with the global partner, liaising with and maintaining good working relationships with EP solutions will be a significant task.

Required Skills/Experience:
Requirements :An efficient reservoir engineer with a good background in RE gas engineering, general PE (Petroleum Engineering) and G&G (Geology and Geophysics), you'll have the ability to support gas maturation aspects related to the large Shell offshore AG and NAG resources. The scope of work covers the ambitious Group reserves and production growth targets to be realised by SNEPCO under the largely PSC (Production Sharing Contract) controlled deepwater and shallow offshore holdings. Gas is a major component in our plans to achieve this ambition. You'll be ready to develop and maintain a well-founded overview of the resource base and the associated development opportunities, and participate in studies with exploration and our global technical partners in Rijswijk and Houston. There is a strong interaction and service provision to the new regional gas directorate, with additional reporting and exposure to SNEPCO and African regional senior managem... click here to apply now
